If you are looking to create more exposure for your business this holiday season, you will definitely need to be involved with social media. Below are five ways to use social media for your holiday marketing.

One – Create a Content Calendar.

Using the 80/20 rule, create a content calendar for the next two months that involve knowledgeable tips, offer promotions, feature news and focus on customer service. Assign specific themes to a corresponding day of the week. When deciding which day of the week is best for your promotional content, research your analytics for each platform to see which days/times your previous content received the most impressions and engagement.

Two – Re-Post Customer Images.

A picture is still worth 1000 words. If you want to make an impression with your customer base, show them that you appreciate the word of mouth by featuring them through re-tweets, Instagram re-posts, Pins and Facebook spotlights. Convenience is paramount with most customers these days, and providing them a great service when they are actually looking for it is a great way to create goodwill with them.

Five – Use social media to have contests.

You want to find out who the influencers in your audience are – the people who will talk about your products to their friends and family. One of the best ways to do this is to have contests – whether it is a simple giveaway or an action to unlock a discount (i.e. Share/Pin/Re-Tweet X amount of times to unlock a 20% discount code.)
